He seemed to have covered the waterfront about the differences between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 . . . It took me three readings to really understand about 1/2 of it. But, it is amazingly complete for having been written four years ago. However Stephen Abram's video put Web 2.0 into perspective for the "how" and "why" questions which librarians typically raise when new technology is introduced. Web 2.0 raises the bar for performance by librarians but, also poses unique challenges for users who are under the age of 20 and still in the classroom.Carol Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02351219341773091544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4643547156877933112.post-26458763270741125232009-06-23T15:54:05.589-07:002009-06-23T15:54:05.589-07:00I want to embrace this form of technology so that ...I want to embrace this form of technology so that I can try to keep up with all the information knowledge that I know my patrons possess. It is very necessary for librarians to be somewhat knowledgible because I feel that we will be using all of this technology sooner than we want to realize.texaslibrarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16451725496905375978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4643547156877933112.post-26517542272195352162009-06-07T17:33:56.483-07:002009-06-07T17:33:56.483-07:00Chris,

I do think a good case can be made for cautious exploration of the murky depths of Web 2.0. Only time will tell which components of Web 2.0 will ultimately prove worthy of resource investment. I think what we have to learn is not so much how to use the various applications but how to remain open minded about new uses of technology and their broader implications.Alexishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02137202718280653711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4643547156877933112.post-41492798036542924732009-06-02T10:48:35.369-07:002009-06-02T10:48:35.369-07:00I know that I need to learn so much more

I see no button, gizmo or instruction on my blog page as to how to enter another post. Nada. I've created the blog; I can comment on the blog, but how do you enter a new post? I think the problem here is that the people who create these things see all the answers themselves and just have no idea how a person new to the technology sees them.<br />Gerald WarfieldGerald Warfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11579249670806899145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4643547156877933112.post-35545253302799298422009-05-20T14:54:18.253-07:002009-05-20T14:54:18.253-07:00Which video didn't work for you, Danelle? --JeffWhich video didn't work for you, Danelle? --JeffTCU Libraryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13663678137429338027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4643547156877933112.post-82357541505056508402009-05-20T14:43:23.041-07:002009-05-20T14:43:23.041-07:00Don't know if video was pulled from site or what, ...Don't know if video was pulled from site or what, but I was not able to view it at all.The Mad Crafterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17696373528360917342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4643547156877933112.post-61435121064014352722009-05-20T11:03:05.843-07:002009-05-20T11:03:05.843-07:00No. 3 was dated 2007, so that's not so bad. At the TechNet conference they had an interesting speaker, Jesse Ephraim, whose topic was Web 3.0, which seems to be a system that is able to interpret words and meanings on a website (identifying names, nouns, companies, etc.).
